Hyperthermia-induced Cell Death

چکیده

Hyperthermia has been shown to have promising antitumor effects for various types of malignant tumors. It is one the most potent adjuvant cancer therapy when combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The range hyperthermia temperature (40-45 ℃) induces cell killing depending on period treatment. Although kinetics inactivation by heat using clonogenic assay well studied, molecular mechanism heat-induced death still unclear. Till now only two distinct forms death, apoptosis necrosis, induced can be recognized morphologically. However, in current classification twelve described. objective this review overview based recent classification, summarize each type, evaluate clinical significance, discuss future directions research.

Induced tissue cell death by magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia for cancer treatment: an in silico study

In this paper, we simulate magnetic hyperthermia process on a mathematical phantom model representing cancer tumor and its surrounding healthy tissues. The temperature distribution throughout the phantom model is obtained by solving the bio-heat equations and the consequent cell death amount is calculated using correlations between the tissue local temperature and the cell death rate. To have a...

HSPB1 deficiency sensitizes melanoma cells to hyperthermia induced cell death

Hyperthermia has shown clinical potency as a single agent or as adjuvant to other therapies in cancer treatment. However, thermotolerance induced by thermosensitive genes such as the heat shock proteins can limit the efficacy of hyperthermic treatment. In the present study, we identified HSPB1 (HSP27) is hyperthermically inducible or endogenously highly expressed in both murine and human melano...

Neuroprotective effect of topiramate against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced cell death in Parkinson's disease cell mode

Introduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive neuronal dysfunction. Growing evidence has shown that oxidative stress plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease. Correspondingly, the current study evaluated the protective effect of topiramate in 6-hydroxydopamine induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in PC12 cells...

Bax-induced apoptotic cell death.

A is an ordered cascade of enzymatic events that culminates in cell death and the cleavage of DNA into characteristic nucleosomal fragments. It is operative during embryonic development and, during adult life, plays a key role in various physiological processes, such as tissue remodeling and execution and regulation of the immune response. The consequences of inappropriate apoptotic responses a...

Effects of Coriandrum sativum extracts on glucose/serum deprivation-induced neuronal cell death

Objective: This study was planned to investigate whetherCoriandrum sativum (C. sativum) is capable of protecting neurons against glucose/serum deprivation (GSD)-induced cytotoxicity. Material and Methods: The PC12 cells were cultivated for 24 h in standard media (high-glucose DMEM containing Fetal Bovine Serum) or for 6 h in GSD condition (glucose-free DMEM, without serum) in the absence or pr...
